Narrated by: Humran bin Abban, the freed slave of Uthman رضی اللہ عنہ said:
ہم سے حسن بن علی الحلوانی نے بیان کیا، ہم سے عبد الرزاق نے بیان کیا، انہیں معمر نے، زہری کی سند سے، عطا بن یزید لیثی کی سند سے, عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کے غلام حمران بن ابان کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ، عَنْحُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبَانَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا فَغَسَلَهُمَا، ثُمَّ تَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، وَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الْمِرْفَقِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ قَدَمَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ مِثْلَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ مِثْلَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا يُحَدِّثُ فِيهِمَا نَفْسَهُ، غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ .
English Translation
I saw Uthman bin Affan while he performed ablution. He poured water over his hands three times and then washed them. He then rinsed his mouth and then cleansed his nose with water (three times). He then washed his right arm up to the elbow three times, then two rakhahs of prayer without allowing his thoughts to be distracted, Allah will pardon all his past sins washed his left arm in a similar manner; then wiped his head; then washed his right foot three times, then washed his left foot in a similar manner, and then said: I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم performing ablution like this ablution of mine. Then he (the Prophet) said: He who performs ablution like this ablution of mine and then offered.
Urdu Translation
میں نے عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کو دیکھا کہ آپ نے وضو کیا تو پہلے اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں پر تین بار پانی ڈالا ان کو دھویا، پھر کلی کی، اور ناک جھاڑی، پھر اپنا چہرہ تین بار دھویا، اور اپنا دایاں ہاتھ کہنی تک تین بار دھویا، اور پھر اسی طرح بایاں ہاتھ، پھر سر پر مسح کیا، پھر اپنا داہنا پاؤں تین بار دھویا، پھر بایاں پاؤں اسی طرح، پھر کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا کہ آپ نے میرے اسی وضو کی طرح وضو کیا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو شخص میرے اس وضو کی طرح وضو کرے پھر دو رکعت نماز پڑھے اس میں دنیا کا خیال و وسوسہ اسے نہ آئے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس شخص کے پچھلے گناہ کو معاف فرما دے گا ۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا ذَهَبَ الْمَذْهَبَ أَبْعَدَ .
When the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم went (outside) to relieve himself, he went to a far-off place.
Another tradition on the authority of Anas has:
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي السَّدُوسِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ هُوَ ابْنُ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ، وَقَالَ شُعْبَةُ: وَقَالَ مَرَّةً: أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ، وقَالَ وُهَيْبٌ: عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، فَلْيَتَعَوَّذْ بِاللهِ.
O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee. Shubah said: Anas sometimes reported the words: I take refuge in Allah.
Narrated Zayd Ibn Arqam:
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْحُشُوشَ مُحْتَضَرَةٌ، فَإِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْخَلَاءَ، فَلْيَقُلْ: أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ.
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: These privies are frequented by the jinns and devils. So when anyone amongst you goes there, he should say: I seek refuge in Allah from male and female devils.
Narrated Abu Hurairah رضی اللہ عنہ :
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّمَا أَنَا لَكُمْ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْوَالِدِ، أُعَلِّمُكُمْ، فَإِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ، فَلا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا وَلَا يَسْتَطِبْ بِيَمِينِهِ، وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الرَّوْثِ وَالرِّمَّةِ.
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: I am like father to you. When any of you goes to privy, he should not face or turn his back towards the qiblah. He should not cleanse with his right hand. He (the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) also commanded the Muslims to use three stones and forbade them to use dung or decayed bone.
