ہم سے حدبہ بن خالد نے بیان کیا، ہم سے ہمام نے، قتادہ سے، حسن الحسن سے اور زرارہ بن اوفی سے, مغیرہ بن شعبہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَعَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: تَخَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَ هَذِهِ الْقِصَّةَ، قَالَ: فَأَتَيْنَا النَّاسَ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ يُصَلِّ بِهِمُ الصُّبْحَ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَأَخَّرَ، فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَمْضِيَ، قَالَ: فَصَلَّيْتُ أَنَا وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَةً، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ، قَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى الرَّكْعَةَ الَّتِي سُبِقَ بِهَا وَلَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَيْهَا، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ، وَابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، وَابْنُ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُونَ: مَنْ أَدْرَكَ الْفَرْدَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهِ سَجْدَتَا السَّهْوِ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم lagged behind (in a journey). He then narrated this story saying: Then we came to people. Abdur-Rahman رضی اللہ عنہ was leading them in the dawn prayer. When he perceived the presence of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, he intended to retire. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم asked him to continue and I and the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم offered one rak’ah of prayer behind him. When he had pronounced the salutation, the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم got up and offered the rak’ah which had been finished before, and he made no addition to it. Abu Dawud said: Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, Ibn al-Zubair and Ibn Umar رضی اللہ عنہم hold the opinion that whoever gets an odd number of the rak’ahs of prayer, he should perform two prostrations on account of forgetfulness.
Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( سفر میں لوگوں کی جماعت سے ) پیچھے رہ گئے، پھر انہوں نے اسی واقعہ کا ذکر کیا۔ مغیرہ کہتے ہیں: جب ہم لوگوں کے پاس آئے تو عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ انہیں صبح کی نماز پڑھا رہے تھے، جب انہوں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا، تو پیچھے ہٹنا چاہا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں نماز جاری رکھنے کا اشارہ کیا۔ مغیرہ کہتے ہیں: تو میں نے اور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف کے پیچھے ایک رکعت پڑھی، اور جب انہوں نے سلام پھیرا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اٹھ کر وہ رکعت ادا کی جو رہ گئی تھی، اس سے زیادہ کچھ نہیں پڑھا۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: ابو سعید خدری، ابن زبیر، اور ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں: جو شخص امام کے ساتھ نماز کی طاق رکعت پائے، تو اس پر سہو کے دو سجدے ہیں ۱؎۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا ذَهَبَ الْمَذْهَبَ أَبْعَدَ .
When the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم went (outside) to relieve himself, he went to a far-off place.
Another tradition on the authority of Anas has:
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي السَّدُوسِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ هُوَ ابْنُ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ، وَقَالَ شُعْبَةُ: وَقَالَ مَرَّةً: أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ، وقَالَ وُهَيْبٌ: عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، فَلْيَتَعَوَّذْ بِاللهِ.
O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee. Shubah said: Anas sometimes reported the words: I take refuge in Allah.
Narrated Zayd Ibn Arqam:
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْحُشُوشَ مُحْتَضَرَةٌ، فَإِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْخَلَاءَ، فَلْيَقُلْ: أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ.
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: These privies are frequented by the jinns and devils. So when anyone amongst you goes there, he should say: I seek refuge in Allah from male and female devils.
Narrated Abu Hurairah رضی اللہ عنہ :
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّمَا أَنَا لَكُمْ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْوَالِدِ، أُعَلِّمُكُمْ، فَإِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ، فَلا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا وَلَا يَسْتَطِبْ بِيَمِينِهِ، وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الرَّوْثِ وَالرِّمَّةِ.
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: I am like father to you. When any of you goes to privy, he should not face or turn his back towards the qiblah. He should not cleanse with his right hand. He (the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) also commanded the Muslims to use three stones and forbade them to use dung or decayed bone.
