Narrated by: Abu Qatadah رضی اللہ عنہ said:
ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ نے مالک کی سند سے، عمر بن عبید اللہ تیمی کے آزاد کردہ غلام ابو الندر سے اور ابو کے آزاد کردہ غلام نافع کی سند سے, ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِبَعْضِ طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ تَخَلَّفَ مَعَ أَصْحَابٍ لَهُ مُحْرِمِينَ وَهُوَ غَيْرُ مُحْرِمٍ، فَرَأَى حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا فَاسْتَوَى عَلَى فَرَسِهِ، قَالَ: فَسَأَلَ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يُنَاوِلُوهُ سَوْطَهُ فَأَبَوْا، فَسَأَلَهُمْ رُمْحَهُ فَأَبَوْا، فَأَخَذَهُ ثُمَّ شَدَّ عَلَى الْحِمَارِ فَقَتَلَهُ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَى بَعْضُهُمْ، فَلَمَّا أَدْرَكُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَأَلُوهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا هِيَ طُعْمَةٌ أَطْعَمَكُمُوهَا اللَّهُ تَعَالَى .
English Translation
He accompanied the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and he stayed behind on the way to Makkah with some of his companions who were wearing ihram, although he was not. When he saw a wild ass he mounted his horse and asked them to hand him his whip, but they refused. He then asked them to hand him his lance. When they refused, he took it, chased the while ass and killed it. Some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ate it and some refused (to eat). When they met the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم they asked him about it. He said that was the food that Allah provided you for eating.
Urdu Translation
وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھے، مکہ کا راستہ طے کرنے کے بعد اپنے کچھ ساتھیوں کے ساتھ جو احرام باندھے ہوئے تھے وہ پیچھے رہ گئے، انہوں نے احرام نہیں باندھا تھا، پھر اچانک انہوں نے ایک نیل گائے دیکھا تو اپنے گھوڑے پر سوار ہوئے اور ساتھیوں سے کوڑا مانگا، انہوں نے انکار کیا، پھر ان سے برچھا مانگا تو انہوں نے پھر انکار کیا، پھر انہوں نے نیزہ خود لیا اور نیل گائے پر حملہ کر کے اسے مار ڈالا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بعض ساتھیوں نے اس میں سے کھایا اور بعض نے انکار کیا، جب وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے جا کر ملے تو آپ سے اس بارے میں پوچھا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ ایک کھانا تھا جو اللہ نے تمہیں کھلایا ۔

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ الْمَعْنَى، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، الْحَجُّ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ أَوْ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً ؟ قَالَ: بَلْ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَمَنْ زَادَ فَهُوَ تَطَوُّعٌ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: هُوَ أَبُو سِنَانٍ الدُّؤَلِيُّ، كَذَا قَالَ عَبْدُ الْجَلِيلِ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، وَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ جَمِيعًا: عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، وقَالَ عُقَيْلٌ: عَنْ سِنَانٍ.
Aqra Ibn Habis رضی اللہ عنہ asked the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saying: Messenger of Allah hajj is to be performed annually or only once? He replied: Only once, and if anyone performs it more often, he performs a supererogatory act. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Abu Sinan is Abu Sinan al-Du'wail. The same has been reported by both Abd al-Jalil bin Humaid and Sulaiman bin Kathir from al-Zuhri. The narrator 'Uqail reported the name Sinan .
Narrated Abu Waqid al-Laythi رضی اللہ عنہ :
حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ ابْنٍ لِأَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لِأَزْوَاجِهِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ: هَذِهِ ثُمَّ ظُهُورَ الْحُصْرِ.
I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saying to his wives during the Farewell Pilgrimage: This (is the pilgrimage for you); afterwards stick to the surface of the mats (i.e. should stay at home).
Abu Huraira رضی اللہ عنہ reported:
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ تُسَافِرُ مَسِيرَةَ لَيْلَةٍ إِلَّا وَمَعَهَا رَجُلٌ ذُو حُرْمَةٍ مِنْهَا .
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: A muslim woman must not make a journey of a night unless she is accompanied by a man who is within the prohibited degrees.
Abu Hurairah رضی اللہ عنہ reported:
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، وَالنُّفَيْلِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ الْحَسَنُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ثُمَّ اتَّفَقُوا، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ وَ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، رَوَاهُ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، وَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، كَمَا قَالَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ.
The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: A woman who believes in Allah and the last Day must not make a journey of a day and a night. He then narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect (as above). The narrator al-Nufaili said: Malik narrated us. Abu Dawud said: The narrators al-Nufail and al_Qanabi did not mention the words “from his father”. Ibn Wahb and Uthman bin Umr narrated from Malik the same words as narrated by al-Qanabi (i.e. omitted the words “from his father”).
