Narrated by: Abu Hurairah رضی اللہ عنہ reported رضی اللہ عنہ :
ہم سے احمد بن حفص بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، مجھ سے میرے والد حفص بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، مجھ سے ابراہیم بن طہمان نے بیان کیا، ان سے الحجاج بن الحجاج باہلی نے، عسل کی سند سے، عطاء بن ابی رباح کی سند سے, ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے بھی اسی واقعہ کی طرح مروی ہے

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَفْصُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ الْبَاهِلِيِّ، عَنْ عِسْلٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، نَحْوَ هَذِهِ الْقِصَّةِ، لَمْ يَذْكُرِ الْإِزَارَ وَالْخَاتَمَ، فَقَالَ: مَا تَحْفَظُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ؟ قَالَ: سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ، أَوِ الَّتِي تَلِيهَا، قَالَ: فَقُمْ، فَعَلِّمْهَا عِشْرِينَ آيَةً وَهِيَ امْرَأَتُكَ .
English Translation
But he does not mention the lower garment and iron ring. He (the Prophet) said: How much do you memorize from Quran? He said: Surat al-Baqarah or the one that follows it. He said: Stand up and teach her twenty verses: she is your wife.
Urdu Translation
لیکن اس میں تہبند اور انگوٹھی کا ذکر نہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تجھے قرآن میں سے کیا یاد ہے؟ جواب دیا: سورۃ البقرہ یا اس کے بعد والی سورت تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جاؤ اسے بیس آیتیں سکھا دو اور وہ تمہاری بیوی ہے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَمْشِي مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ بِمِنًى، إِذْ لَقِيَهُ عُثْمَانُ فَاسْتَخْلَاهُ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَنْ لَيْسَتْ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ، قَالَ لِي: تَعَالَ يَا عَلْقَمَةُ، فَجِئْتُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُثْمَانُ: أَلَا نُزَوِّجُكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بِجَارِيَةٍ بِكْرٍ، لَعَلَّهُ يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ نَفْسِكَ مَا كُنْتَ تَعْهَدُ ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: لَئِنْ قُلْتَ ذَاكَ، لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمُ الْبَاءَةَ فَلْيَتَزَوَّجْ، فَإِنَّهُ أَغَضُّ لِلْبَصَرِ وَأَحْصَنُ لِلْفَرْجِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ مِنْكُمْ فَعَلَيْهِ بِالصَّوْمِ فَإِنَّهُ لَهُ وِجَاءٌ .
“I was going with Abdullah bin Masud رضی اللہ عنہ at Mina where Uthman رضی اللہ عنہ met him and desired to have a talk with him in privacy”. When Abdullah (bin Masud رضی اللہ عنہ ) thought there was no need of privacy, he said to me “Come, Alqamah So I came (to him)”. Then Uthman رضی اللہ عنہ said to him “Should we not marry you, Abu Abd Al Rahman to a virgin girl, so that the power you have lost may return to you?” Abdullah (bin Masud رضی اللہ عنہ ) said “If you say that, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say “ Those of you who can support a wife, should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserve from unlawful intercourse, but those who cannot should devote themselves to fasting, for it is a means of suppressing sexual desire.
Abu Hurairah رضی اللہ عنہ reported:
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: تُنْكَحُ النِّسَاءُ لِأَرْبَعٍ: لِمَالِهَا وَلِحَسَبِهَا وَلِجَمَالِهَا وَلِدِينِهَا، فَاظْفَرْ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ .
The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying “Women may be married for four reasons: for her property, her ranks, her beauty and her religiosity. So get the one who is religious and prosper (lit. may your hands cleave to the dust). ”
Jabir bin Abdullah رضی اللہ عنہما said:
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَتَزَوَّجْتَ ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: بِكْرًا أَمْ ثَيِّبًا ، فَقُلْتُ: ثَيِّبًا ، قَالَ: أَفَلَا بِكْرٌ تُلَاعِبُهَا وَتُلَاعِبُكَ ؟ .
“The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said to me “Did you marry?” I said “Yes”. He again said “Virgin or Non Virgin (woman previously married)?” I said “Non Virgin”. He said “Why (did you) not (marry) a virgin with whom you could sport and she could sport with you.
Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas رضی اللہ عنہما :
قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ حُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ امْرَأَتِي لَا تَمْنَعُ يَدَ لَامِسٍ، قَالَ: غَرِّبْهَا ، قَالَ: أَخَافُ أَنْ تَتْبَعَهَا نَفْسِي، قَالَ: فَاسْتَمْتِعْ بِهَا .
A man came to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, and said: My wife does not prevent the hand of a man who touches her. He said: Divorce her. He then said: I am afraid my inner self may covet her. He said: Then enjoy her.
