ہم سے سعید بن منصور اور مسدد نے بیان کیا, ہم سے سفیان نے زہری کی سند سے عروہ کی سند سے بیان کیا, ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اخْتَصَمَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَ عَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ابْنِ أَمَةِ زَمْعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ:‏‏‏‏ أَوْصَانِي أَخِي عُتْبَةُ إِذَا قَدِمْتُ مَكَّةَ أَنْ أَنْظُرَ إِلَى ابْنِ أَمَةِ زَمْعَةَ فَأَقْبِضَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّهُ ابْنُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخِي ابْنُ أَمَةِ أَبِي وُلِدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِ أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَبَهًا بَيِّنًا بِعُتْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاحْتَجِبِي عَنْهُ يَا سَوْدَةُ . زَادَ مُسَدَّدٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ أَخُوكَ يَا عَبْدُ .

سعد بن ابی وقاص اور عبد بن زمعہ رضی اللہ عنہما دونوں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں زمعہ کی لونڈی کے بیٹے کا جھگڑا لے آئے، سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کہنے لگے :میرے بھائی عتبہ نے مجھے وصیت کی تھی کہ جب میں مکہ جاؤں تو زمعہ کی لونڈی کے بچے کو دیکھوں تو اس کو لے لوں کیونکہ وہ انہیں کا بیٹا ہے، اور عبد بن زمعہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہنے لگے: یہ میرا بھائی ہے کیونکہ میرے والد کی لونڈی کا بیٹا ہے، اور میرے والد کے بستر پر اس کی ولادت ہوئی ہے، چنانچہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عتبہ کے ساتھ کھلی مشابہت دیکھی ( اس کے باوجود ) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بچہ بستر والے کا ہے، اور زانی کے لیے سنگساری ہے، اور سودہ! تم اس سے پردہ کرو ۔ مسدد نے اپنی روایت میں یہ الفاظ زیادہ کئے ہیں کہ آپ نے فرمایا: عبد! یہ تیرا بھائی ہے ۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

“Saad bin Abi Waqqas and Abd bin Zamah رضی اللہ عنہما disputed amongst themselves about the (relationship of the) son of the slave girl of Zam’ah and brought the case to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Saad رضی اللہ عنہ said “My brother ‘Utbah enjoined me that when I came to Makkah I should see the son of the slave girl of Zam’ah and take his possession for that is his son”. Abd bin Zam’ah رضی اللہ عنہ said “He is my brother, the son of my father’s slave girl having been born on my father’s bed”. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم saw his clear resemblance to ‘Utbah. So he said “The child is attributed to the one on whose bed it is born and the fornicator is deprived of any right (lit. the fornicator will have the stone). Veil yourself from him, Saudah. Musaddad added in his version “he is your brother Abd”.
