ہم سے عثمان بن ابی شیبہ نے بیان کیا، ہم سے وکیع نے بیان کیا، ہم سے الاعمش نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوصالح، مجاہد اور مسلم البطین نے سعید بن جبیر کی سند سے, عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، وَمُجَاهِدٍ، وَمُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ. قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ: وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، إِلَّا رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ .
Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا :ان دنوں یعنی عشرہ ذی الحجہ کا نیک عمل اللہ تعالیٰ کو تمام دنوں کے نیک اعمال سے زیادہ محبوب ہے ، لوگوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد بھی ( اسے نہیں پا سکتا ) ؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جہاد بھی نہیں، مگر ایسا شخص جو اپنی جان و مال کے ساتھ نکلا اور لوٹا ہی نہیں ۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: There is no virtue more to the liking of Allah in any day than in these days, that is, the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah. They (the Companions) asked: Messenger of Allah, not even the struggle in the path of Allah (Jihad) ? He said: (Yes), not even the struggle in the path of Allah, except a man who goes out (in the path of Allah) with his life and property, and does not return with any of them.
