حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ شُفْعَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، قَالَ: رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ اللُّؤْلُئِيُّ: أُرَاهُ وَعَلَيَّ ثَوْبٌ مَصْبُوغٌ بِعُصْفُرٍ مُوَرَّدٍ، فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا ؟، فَانْطَلَقْتُ، فَأَحْرَقْتُهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا صَنَعْتَ بِثَوْبِكَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ: أَحْرَقْتُهُ، قَالَ: أَفَلَا كَسَوْتَهُ بَعْضَ أَهْلِكَ ؟ ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: رَوَاهُ ثَوْرٌ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، فَقَالَ: مُوَرَّدٌ، وَطَاوُسٌ، قَالَ: مُعَصْفَرٌ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saw me. The version of Abu Ali al-Lula has: I think I wore a garment dyed with a reddish yellow colour. He asked: What is this? So I went and burnt it. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: What have you done with your garment? I replied: I burnt it. He said: Why did you not give it to one of your women to wear? Abu Dawud said: Thawr transmitted it from Khalid and said: Pink (muwarrad) while Tawus said: Reddish yellow colour (mu'asfar) .
Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے دیکھا، اس وقت میں گلابی کسم سے رنگا ہوا کپڑا پہنے تھا آپ نے ( ناگواری کے انداز میں ) فرمایا: یہ کیا ہے؟ تو میں نے جا کر اسے جلا دیا پھر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے پوچھا: تم نے اپنے کپڑے کے ساتھ کیا کیا؟ تو میں نے عرض کیا: میں نے اسے جلا دیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اپنی کسی گھر والی کو کیوں نہیں پہنا دیا؟ ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے ثور نے خالد سے مورد ( گلابی رنگ میں رنگا ہوا کپڑا ) اور طاؤس نے«معصفر» ( کسم میں رنگا ہوا کپڑا ) روایت کیا ہے۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اسْتَجَدَّ ثَوْبًا سَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِهِ إِمَّا قَمِيصًا أَوْ عِمَامَةً ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ ، قَالَ أَبُو نَضْرَةَ: فَكَانَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا لَبِسَ أَحَدُهُمْ ثَوْبًا جَدِيدًا، قِيلَ لَهُ: تُبْلَى وَيُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى.
When the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم put on a new garment he mentioned it by name, turban or shirt, and would then say: O Allah, praise be to Thee! as Thou hast clothed me with it, I ask Thee for its good and the good of that for which it was made, and I seek refuge in Thee from its evil and the evil of that for which it was made. Abu Nadrah said: When any of the Companions of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم put on a new garment, he was told: May you wear it out and may Allah give you another in its place.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِهِ نَحْوَهُ.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ، وَحَمَّادُ ابْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: عَنْ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، وَالثَّقَفِيُّ سَمَاعُهُمَا وَاحِدٌ.
Abdul-Wahhab al-Thaqafi did not mention the name of Abu Saeed. Hammad bin Salamah said: From al-Jariri, from Abu al-'Ala, from the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. Abu Dawud said: The hearing of this tradition by Hammad bin Salamah and Thaqafi is of the same nature.
Narrated Muadh bin Anas رضی اللہ عنہ :
حَدَّثَنَا نُصَيْرُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَرْحُومٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَنْ أَكَلَ طَعَامًا ثُمَّ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا الطَّعَامَ، وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ، قَالَ: وَمَنْ لَبِسَ ثَوْبًا، فَقَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا الثَّوْبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ .
The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: If anyone eats food and then says: Praise be to Allah Who has fed me with this food and provided me with it through no might and power on my part, he will be forgiven his former and later sins. If anyone puts on a garment and says: Praise be to Allah Who has clothed me with this and provided me with it through no might and power on my part, he will be forgiven his former and later sins.
