ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، ہم سے وہیب نے بیان کیا، ان سے خالد نے، وہ ابو الضحیٰ کی سند سے, علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رُفِعَ الْقَلَمُ عَنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ:‏‏‏‏ عَنِ النَّائِمِ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَنِ الصَّبِيِّ حَتَّى يَحْتَلِمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَنِ الْمَجْنُونِ حَتَّى يَعْقِلَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ رَوَاهُ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَادَ فِيهِ وَالْخَرِفِ.

Urdu Translation

اردو

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا :قلم تین آدمیوں سے اٹھا لیا گیا ہے: سوئے ہوئے شخص سے یہاں تک کہ وہ بیدار ہو جائے، بچے سے یہاں تک کہ وہ بالغ ہو جائے، اور دیوانے سے یہاں تک کہ اسے عقل آ جائے ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے ابن جریج نے قاسم بن یزید سے انہوں نے علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے، علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مرفوعاً روایت کیا ہے، اور اس میں کھوسٹ بوڑھے کا اضافہ ہے۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: There are three (persons) whose actions are not recorded: a sleeper till he awakes, a boy till he reaches puberty, and a lunatic till he comes to reason. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Juraij has transmitted it from Al-Qasim bin Yazid on the authority of Ali رضی اللہ عنہ from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. This version adds: and an old man who is feeble-minded.
