ہم سے محمد بن بشار نے بیان کیا، ہم سے محمد بن جعفر نے بیان کیا، ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، میں نے ابو جعفر رضی اللہ عنہ کو مسلم ابو المثنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہوئے سنا,عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ أَبِي الْمُثَنَّى، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: إِنَّمَا كَانَ الْأَذَانُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، وَالْإِقَامَةُ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ، يَقُولُ: قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَإِذَا سَمِعْنَا الْإِقَامَةَ تَوَضَّأْنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ غَيْرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ.
Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں اذان کے کلمات دو دو بار اور اقامت کے کلمات سوائے :قد قامت الصلاة کے ایک ایک بار کہے جاتے تھے، چنانچہ جب ہم اقامت سنتے تو وضو کرتے پھر نماز کے لیے آتے تھے ۱؎۔ شعبہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے ابو جعفر سے اس حدیث کے علاوہ اور کوئی حدیث نہیں سنی۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
The words of adhan were pronounced from the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم twice in pairs (i.e. four times) each, and the words of iqamah were pronounced once in pairs (twice each), except that the phrase The time for prayer has come would be pronounced twice. When we heard iqamah, we would perform ablution, and go out for prayer. Shubah said: I did not hear Abu Jafar narrating any other tradition except this one.
