Narrated by Abdullah (bin Masud) رضی اللہ عنہ said:
ہم سے محمد بن عبداللہ بن نمیر نے بیان کیا، ہم سے ابن فضل نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے العماش کی سند سے، ابراہیم کی سند سے، علقمہ کی سند سے, عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: كُنَّا نُسَلِّمُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَيَرُدُّ عَلَيْنَا ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّجَاشِيِّ سَلَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْنَا، وَقَالَ: إِنَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ لَشُغْلًا.
Urdu Translation
ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو سلام کرتے اس حال میں کہ آپ نماز میں ہوتے تھے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے سلام کا جواب دیتے تھے، لیکن جب ہم نجاشی ( بادشاہ حبشہ ) کے پاس سے لوٹ کر آئے تو ہم نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو سلام کیا تو آپ نے سلام کا جواب نہیں دیا اور فرمایا :نماز پوری توجہ مانگتی ہے۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
We used to salute the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم while he was engaged in prayer and he would respond to our salutation, but when we returned from the Negas, we saluted him and he did not respond to us. He said: Prayer demands one’s whole attention.
