Narrated by It was narrated that 'Ali رضی اللہ عنہ said:
ہم سے علی بن محمد نے بیان کیا، کہا: ہم سے وکیع، ابو معاویہ اور عبداللہ بن نمیر نے العمش کی سند سے، عدی بن ثابت کی سند سے، انہوں نے عنذر بن حبیش کی سند سے بیان کیا, علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، وعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْزِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَن عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ الْأُمِّيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّنِي، إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ، وَلَا يُبْغِضُنِي إِلَّا مُنَافِقٌ .
Urdu Translation
نبی امی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا :مجھ سے صرف مومن ہی محبت کرے گا، مجھ سے صرف منافق ہی بغض رکھے گا ۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
The Unlettered Prophet informed me (saying) that none but a believer would love me and none but a hypocrite would hate me.
