Narrated by: It was narrated that 'Ali رضی اللہ عنہ said:
ہم سے محمد بن بشار نے بیان کیا، ہم سے محمد بن جعفر نے بیان کیا، ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے سعد بن ابراہیم نے، وہ عبداللہ بن شداد کی سند سے, علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمَعَ أَبَوَيْهِ لِأَحَدٍ غَيْرَ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، فَإِنَّهُ قَالَ لَهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ: ارْمِ سَعْدُ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي .
English Translation
I never saw the Messenger of Allah mention his parents together for anyone except Sa'd bin Malik رضی اللہ عنہ . He said to him on the Day of Uhud: 'Shoot, Sa'd! May my father and mother be sacrificed for you!'
Urdu Translation
میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو نہیں دیکھا کہ آپ نے سعد بن مالک ( سعد بن ابی وقاص ) رضی اللہ عنہ کے علاوہ کسی کے لیے اپنے والدین کو جمع کیا ہو، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غزوہ احد کے دن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: اے سعد! تم تیر چلاؤ، میرے ماں اور باپ تم پر فدا ہوں ۔

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَال: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ فَخُذُوهُ، وَمَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا .
The Prophet said: Whatever I have commanded you do it, and whatever I have forbidden you, refrain from it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِسُؤَالِهِمْ، وَاخْتِلَافِهِمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ، فَإِذَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ فَخُذُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ، وَإِذَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فَانْتَهُوا .
The Prophet said: Leave me as I have left you (Don't ask me the minor things that I have avoided to tell you). For those who came before you were doomed because of their questions and differences with their Prophets. If I commanded you to do something, then do as much of it as you can, and if I forbid you from doing something, then refrain from it.
Abu Hurairah رضی اللہ عنہ said:
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، وَوَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ، وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ .
The Prophet said: Whoever obeys me, obeys Allah; and whoever disobeys me, disobeys Allah.
Abu Ja'far said:
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا لَمْ يَعْدُهُ وَلَمْ يُقَصِّرْ دُونَهُ .
Whenever Ibn 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہما heard a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he would not do more than it said, and he would not do less.
