ہم سے ابوبکر بن ابی شیبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے اسماعیل بن علیہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے برد بن سنان سے، انہوں نے عبادہ بن نسیٰ سے, غضیف بن حارث کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بُرْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نُسَيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ غُضَيْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَجْهَرُ بِالْقُرْآنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ يُخَافِتُ بِهِ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ رُبَّمَا جَهَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرُبَّمَا خَافَتَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ سَعَةً .

Urdu Translation

اردو

میں ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس آیا، اور ان سے پوچھا :رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم قرآن بلند آواز سے پڑھتے تھے یا آہستہ؟ انہوں نے کہا: کبھی بلند آواز سے پڑھتے تھے اور کبھی آہستہ، میں نے کہا: اللہ اکبر، شکر ہے اس اللہ کا جس نے اس معاملہ میں وسعت رکھی ہے۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

“I came to ‘Aishah رضی اللہ عنہا and asked: ‘Did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recite Qur’an loudly or softly?’ She said: ‘Sometimes he would recite loud and sometimes softly.’ I said, ‘Allahu Akbar! Praise is to Allah Who has made this matter one of broad scope.’”
