Narrated by: It was narrated that Umm Qais bint Mihsan رضی اللہ عنہا said:
ہم سے ابوبکر بن ابی شیبہ اور محمد بن الصباح نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے زہری کی سند سے اور عبید اللہ بن عبد اللہ کی سند سے بیان کیا, ام قیس بنت محصن رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلْتُ بِابْنٍ لِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَأْكُلِ الطَّعَامَ، فَبَالَ عَلَيْهِ فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَرَشَّ عَلَيْهِ .
English Translation
I came to the Messenger of Allah with a son of mine who was not yet eating solid food, and he (the baby) urinated on him. He called for water and sprinkled it over (the urine).
Urdu Translation
میں اپنے ایک شیرخوار بچے کو لے کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئی، اس نے آپ کے اوپر پیشاب کر دیا، آپ نے پانی منگوا کر اس پر چھڑک دیا۔

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ، وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ .

It was narrated from Jabir رضی اللہ عنہ that:
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ بَدْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ، وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ .
The Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution with a Mudd (of water) and bath with a Sa'.
Abdullah bin Muhammed bin 'Aqil bin Abu Talib رضی اللہ عنہ narrated from his father that his grandfather said:
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، وَعَبَّادُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زَبَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يُجْزِئُ مِنَ الْوُضُوءِ مُدٌّ، وَمِنَ الْغُسْلِ صَاعٌ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: لَا يُجْزِئُنَا، فَقَالَ: قَدْ كَانَ يُجْزِئُ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ، وَأَكْثَرُ شَعَرًا ، يَعْنِي: النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
The Messenger of Allah said: 'A Mudd is sufficient for the ablution and a Sa' is sufficient for the bath.' A man said: 'It is not sufficient for us.' He (the narrator) said: It was sufficient for one who is better than you and had more hair meaning the Prophet.
