Narrated by It was narrated that Abu Qatadah رضی اللہ عنہ said:

ہم سے ابوبشر بکر بن خلف نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن ابی عدی نے حجاج الصوف کی سند سے، یحییٰ بن ابی کثیر نے، عبداللہ بن ابی قتادہ کی سند سے اور ابو سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے, ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ الصَّوَّافِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُطِيلُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِنَ الظُّهْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُقْصِرُ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَذَلِكَ فِي الصُّبْحِ .

Urdu Translation

اردو

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمیں نماز پڑھاتے تو ظہر کی پہلی رکعت لمبی کرتے، اور دوسری رکعت چھوٹی کرتے، اور اسی طرح فجر کی نماز میں بھی کرتے ۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to lead us in prayer, and he would lengthen the first Rak’ah of the Zuhr and shorten the second Rak’ah, and he would do likewise in the Subh
