ہم سے سلیمان بن حرب نے بیان کیا ، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا ، ان سے ابواسحٰق نے ، ان سے عبدالرحمٰن بن زید نے بیان کیا کہ

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ،، قَالَ سَأَلْنَا حُذَيْفَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ، قَرِيبِ السَّمْتِ وَالْهَدْىِ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَتَّى نَأْخُذَ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ مَا أَعْرِفُ أَحَدًا أَقْرَبَ سَمْتًا وَهَدْيًا وَدَلاًّ بِالنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنِ ابْنِ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ‏.‏

Urdu Translation

اردو

ہم نے حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ صحابہ میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عادات واخلاق اور طور طریق میں سب سے زیادہ قریب کون سے صحابی تھے ؟ تاکہ ہم ان سے سیکھیں ، انہوں نے کہا اخلاق ، طور و طریق اور سیرت وعادت میں ابن ام عبد سے زیادہ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے قریب اور کسی کو میں نہیں سمجھتا ۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

We asked Hudhaifa رضی اللہ عنہ to tell us of a person resembling (to some extent) the Prophet (ﷺ) in good appearance and straight forward behavior so that we may learn from him (good manners and acceptable conduct). Hudhaifa replied, "I do not know anybody resembling the Prophet (to some extent) in appearance and conduct more than Ibn Um `Abd.
