Narrated by Narrated 'Ata bin Abi Rabah:

مجھ سے اوزاعی نے بیان کیا ، ان سے عطاء بن ابی رباح نے بیان کیا کہ

النص العربي

وَحَدَّثَنِي الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، قَالَ زُرْتُ عَائِشَةَ مَعَ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ فَسَأَلْنَاهَا عَنِ الْهِجْرَةِ، فَقَالَتْ لاَ هِجْرَةَ الْيَوْمَ، كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ يَفِرُّ أَحَدُهُمْ بِدِينِهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَإِلَى رَسُولِهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُفْتَنَ عَلَيْهِ، فَأَمَّا الْيَوْمَ فَقَدْ أَظْهَرَ اللَّهُ الإِسْلاَمَ، وَالْيَوْمَ يَعْبُدُ رَبَّهُ حَيْثُ شَاءَ، وَلَكِنْ جِهَادٌ وَنِيَّةٌ‏.‏

Urdu Translation

عبید بن عمیر لیثی کے ساتھ میں حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور ہم نے ان سے فتح مکہ کے بعد ہجرت کے متعلق پوچھا ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ایک وقت تھا جب مسلمان اپنے دین کی حفاظت کے لئے اللہ تعالیٰ اور اس کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرف عہد کر کے آتا تھا ، اس خطرہ کی وجہ سے کہ کہیں وہ فتنہ میں نہ پڑ جائے لیکن اب اللہ تعالیٰ نے اسلام کو غالب کر دیا ہے اور آ ج ( سرزمین عرب میں ) انسان جہاں بھی چاہے اپنے رب کی عبادت کر سکتا ہے ، البتہ جہاد اور نیت ثواب باقی ہے ۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

`Ubaid bin `Umar Al-Laithi and I visited Aisha رضی اللہ عنہا and asked her about the Hijra (i.e. migration), and she said, "Today there is no (Hijrah) emigration. A believer used to run away with his religion to Allah and His Apostle lest he should be put to trial because of his religion. Today Allah has made Islam triumphant, and today a believer can worship his Lord wherever he likes. But the deeds that are still rewardable (in place of emigration) are Jihad and good intentions."
