مجھ سے عبداللہ بن محمد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے وہب نے بیان کیا، ان سے شعبہ نے، ان سے ابواسحاق نے کہ

حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، كُنْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ كَمْ غَزَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ غَزْوَةٍ قَالَ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ‏.‏ قِيلَ كَمْ غَزَوْتَ أَنْتَ مَعَهُ قَالَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ‏.‏ قُلْتُ فَأَيُّهُمْ كَانَتْ أَوَّلَ قَالَ الْعُسَيْرَةُ أَوِ الْعُشَيْرُ‏.‏ فَذَكَرْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ فَقَالَ الْعُشَيْرُ‏.‏

Urdu Translation

اردو

میں ایک وقت زید بن ارقم رضی اللہ عنہ کے پہلو میں بیٹھا ہوا تھا۔ ان سے پوچھا گیا تھا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کتنے غزوے کئے؟ انہوں نے کہا انیس۔ میں نے پوچھا آپ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ کتنے غزوات میں شریک رہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ سترہ میں۔ میں نے پوچھا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا سب سے پہلا غزوہ کون سا تھا؟ کہا کہ عسیرہ یا عشیرہ۔ پھر میں نے اس کا ذکر قتادہ سے کیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ ( صحیح لفظ ) عشیرہ ہے۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

Once, while I was sitting beside Zaid bin Al-Arqam رضی اللہ عنہ , he was asked, "How many Ghazwat did the Prophet undertake?" Zaid replied, "Nineteen." They said, "In how many Ghazwat did you join him?" He replied, "Seventeen." I asked, "Which of these was the first?" He replied, "Al-`Ashira or Al- `Ashiru." When I mentioned it to Qatadah, he replied: Oshair.
