ہم سے عمرو بن علی فلاس نے بیان کیا ، کہا ہم سے عبدالرحمٰن بن مہدی نے بیان کیا ، ان سے سلام بن ابی مطیع نے بیان کیا ، ان سے ابو عمران جونی نے اور ان سے حضرت جندب ابن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلاَّمُ بْنُ أَبِي مُطِيعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ، عَنْ جُنْدَبٍ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ مَا ائْتَلَفَتْ عَلَيْهِ قُلُوبُكُمْ فَإِذَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فَقُومُوا عَنْهُ ". تَابَعَهُ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَأَبَانُ. وَقَالَ غُنْدَرٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ سَمِعْتُ جُنْدَبًا قَوْلَهُ. وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ عُمَرَ قَوْلَهُ، وَجُنْدَبٌ أَصَحُّ وَأَكْثَرُ.
English Translation
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Recite (and study) the Qur'an as long as you agree about its interpretation, but when you have any difference of opinion (as regards its interpretation and meaning) then you should stop reciting it (for the time being). Harith bin Obaid and Saeed bin Zaid have reported similarly from Abu Imran. Hamad bin Salamah and Aban did not report it tracing it to the prophet ﷺ. Ghunder, Shobah, Abu Imran has reported Hadrat Jundab's saying. Ibn-e-Aun, Abu Imran has reported Hadrat Judab's saying. Ibn-e-Aun, Abu Imran, Abdullah bin Samit report Hadrat Umer's saying but the narration of Hadrat Jundab is more authentic and more famous.
Urdu Translation
نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا اس قرآن کو جب ہی تک پڑھو جب تک تمہارے دل ملے جلے یا لگے رہیں ، جب اختلاف اور جھگڑا کرنے لگوتو اٹھ کھڑے ہو ۔ ( قرآن مجید پڑھنا موقوف کر دو ) سلام کے ساتھ اس حدیث کو حارث بن عبید اور سعید بن زید نے بھی ابو عمران جونی سے روایت کیا اور حماد بن سلمہ اور ابان نے اس کو مرفوع نہیں بلکہ موقوفاً روایت کیا ہے اور غندر محمد بن جعفر نے بھی شعبہ سے ، انہوں نے ابو عمران سے یوں روایت کیا کہ میں نے جندب سے سنا ، وہ کہتے تھے ۔ ( لیکن موقوفاً روایت کیا ) اور عبداللہ بن عون نے اس کو ابو عمران سے ، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن صامت سے ، انہوں نے حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے ان کا قول روایت کیا ( مرفوعا نہیں کیا ) اور جندب کی روایت زیادہ صحیح ہے ۔

Narrated `Aisha and Ibn `Abbas رضی اللہ عنہم :
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ، وَابْنُ، عَبَّاسٍ رضى الله عنهم قَالاَ لَبِثَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ يُنْزَلُ عَلَيْهِ الْقُرْآنُ وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ.
The Prophet (ﷺ) remained in Mecca for ten years, during which the Qur'an used to be revealed to him; and he stayed in Medina for ten years.
Narrated Abu `Uthman:
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ أُنْبِئْتُ أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَعِنْدَهُ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ فَجَعَلَ يَتَحَدَّثُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ " مَنْ هَذَا ". أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ قَالَتْ هَذَا دِحْيَةُ. فَلَمَّا قَامَ قَالَتْ وَاللَّهِ مَا حَسِبْتُهُ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ خُطْبَةَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُخْبِرُ خَبَرَ جِبْرِيلَ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ، قَالَ أَبِي قُلْتُ لأَبِي عُثْمَانَ مِمَّنْ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا. قَالَ مِنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ.
I was informed that Gabriel came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while Um Salama رضی اللہ عنہا was with him. Gabriel started talking (to the Prophet). Then the Prophet (ﷺ) asked Um Salama رضی اللہ عنہا , "Who is this?" She replied, "He is Dihya (al-Kalbi)." When Gabriel had left, Um Salama رضی اللہ عنہا said, "By Allah, I did not take him for anybody other than him (i.e. Dihya) till I heard the sermon of the Prophet (ﷺ) wherein he informed about the news of Gabriel." The subnarrator asked Abu `Uthman: From whom have you heard that? Abu `Uthman said: From Usama bin Zaid رضی اللہ عنہا.
Narrated Abu Huraira رضی اللہ عنہ :
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَا مِنَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ نَبِيٌّ إِلاَّ أُعْطِيَ مَا مِثْلُهُ آمَنَ عَلَيْهِ الْبَشَرُ، وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ الَّذِي أُوتِيتُ وَحْيًا أَوْحَاهُ اللَّهُ إِلَىَّ فَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ تَابِعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ".
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Every Prophet was given miracles because of which people believed, but what I have been given, is Divine Inspiration which Allah has revealed to me. So I hope that my followers will outnumber the followers of the other Prophets on the Day of Resurrection."
Narrated Anas bin Malik رضی اللہ عنہ :
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ اللَّهَ، تَعَالَى تَابَعَ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَبْلَ وَفَاتِهِ حَتَّى تَوَفَّاهُ أَكْثَرَ مَا كَانَ الْوَحْىُ، ثُمَّ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَعْدُ.
Allah sent down His Divine Inspiration to His Apostle continuously and abundantly during the period preceding his death till He took him unto Him. That was the period of the greatest part of revelation; and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) died after that.
