Narrated by Narrated Hudhaifa رضی اللہ عنہ :

ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا ، کہا ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے بیان کیا ، ان سے عبدالملک بن عمیر نے ، ان سے ربعی بن حراش نے اور ان سے حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ قَالَ ‏"‏ بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا ‏"‏‏.‏ وَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنْ مَنَامِهِ قَالَ ‏"‏ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا، وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ ‏"‏‏.‏

Urdu Translation

اردو

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب سو نے کا ارادہ کرتے تو کہتے باسمك اللهم أموت وأحيا تیر ے نام کے ساتھ اے اللہ ! میں مر تا اور تیر ے ہی نام سے جیتا ہوں اور جب بیدار ہوتے تو یہ دعا پڑھتے ۔ الحمد لله الذي أحيانا بعد ما أماتنا ، ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ وإليه النشور ‏ تمام تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لئے ہیں جس نے ہمیں موت کے بعد زند گی بخشی اور اسی کی طرف ہم کو لوٹناہے ۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) intended to go to bed, he would recite: "Bismika Allahumma amutu wa ahya (With Your name, O Allah, I die and I live)." And when he woke up from his sleep, he would say: "Al-hamdu lil-lahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana; wa ilaihi an-nushur (All the Praises are for Allah Who has made us alive after He made us die (sleep) and unto Him is the Resurrection). "
