Narrated by: Yazid bin Abu Habib reported that Na'im, the freed slave of Umm Salama, reported to him that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin 'As رضی اللہ عنہ said:
وہ ہیں سعید بن منصور ، عبداللہ بن وہب کا بیان، عمرو بن الحارث کا بیان، یزید بن کا بیان۔ ابو حبیب ام سلمہ کے خادم ہیں، نعیم کا کیا مطلب ہے؟ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، أَنَّ نَاعِمًا، مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، قَالَ: أَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى نَبِيِّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ وَالْجِهَادِ، أَبْتَغِي الْأَجْرَ مِنَ اللهِ، قَالَ: «فَهَلْ مِنْ وَالِدَيْكَ أَحَدٌ حَيٌّ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ، بَلْ كِلَاهُمَا، قَالَ: «فَتَبْتَغِي الْأَجْرَ مِنَ اللهِ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَارْجِعْ إِلَى وَالِدَيْكَ فَأَحْسِنْ صُحْبَتَهُمَا».
English Translation
There came to Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) a person and said: I owe allegiance to you for migration and Jihad seeking reward only from Allah. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Is one from amongst your parents living? He said: Yes, of course, both are living. He further asked: Do you want to seek reward from Allah? He said: Yes. Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: Go back to your parents and accord them benevolent treatment.
Urdu Translation
ایک شخص نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو کر عرض کی : میں آپ سے ہجرت اور جہاد پر بیعت کرتا ہوں اور اللہ تعالیٰ سے اس کا اجر طلب کرتا ہوں ، آپ نے فرمایا : " کیا تمہارے والدین میں سے کوئی ایک زندہ ہے؟ " اس نے کہا : جی ہاں ، بلکہ دونوں زندہ ہیں ۔ آپ نے فرمایا : " تم اللہ سے اجر کے طالب ہو؟ " اس نے کہا : جی ہاں ۔ آپ نے فرمایا : " اپنے والدین کے پاس جاؤ اور اچھے برتاؤ سے ان کے ساتھ رہو ۔ "

A person came to Allah, 's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and said: Who among the people is most deserving of a fine treatment from my hand? He said: Your mother. He again said: Then who (is the next one)? He said: Again it is your mother (who deserves the best treatment from you). He said: Then who (is the next one)? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Again, it is your mother. He (again) said: Then who? Thereupon he said: Then it is your father. In the hadith transmitted on the authority of Qutalba, there is no mention of the word the people .
Abu Huraira رضی اللہ عنہ reported:
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَحَقُّ النَّاسِ بِحُسْنِ الصُّحْبَةِ قَالَ أُمُّكَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ ثُمَّ أَدْنَاكَ أَدْنَاكٍَ.
A person said: Allah's Messenger, who amongst the people is most deserving of my good treatment? He said: Your mother, again your mother, again your mother, then your father, then your nearest relatives according to the order (of nearness).
Abu Huraira رضی اللہ عنہ reported:
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ وَابْنِ شُبْرُمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ وَزَادَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ وَأَبِيكَ لَتُنَبَّأَنَّ.
A person came to Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ). The rest of the hadith is the same as transmitted by jarir but with this addition: By your father, you would get the information.
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Shubruma with the same chain of transmitters and the hadith transmitted on the authority of Wuhaib there is a slight variation of wording. Same is the case with the hadith transmitted on the authority of Muhammad bin Talha (and the words are):
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ و حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خِرَاشٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ ابْنِ شُبْرُمَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ فِي حَدِيثِ وُهَيْبٍ مَنْ أَبَرُّ وَفِي حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَقُّ مِنِّي بِحُسْنِ الصُّحْبَةِ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ جَرِير.
Who amongst the people deserves the best treatment from me? Then he mentioned a Hadith lie that of Jarir (no. 6502).
