حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، وَابْنُ بِشْرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا اسْتَعَارَتْ مِنْ أَسْمَاءَ قِلَادَةً فَهَلَكَتْ، «فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِي طَلَبِهَا، فَأَدْرَكَتْهُمُ الصَّلَاةُ، فَصَلَّوْا بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ، فَلَمَّا أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَكَوْا ذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ، فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ التَّيَمُّمِ» فَقَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ: «جَزَاكِ اللهُ خَيْرًا، فَوَاللهِ مَا نَزَلَ بِكِ أَمْرٌ قَطُّ، إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللهُ لَكِ مِنْهُ مَخْرَجًا وَجَعَلَ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ فِيهِ بَرَكَةً».
English Translation
She had borrowed from Asma' (her sister) a necklace and it was lost. The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) sent men to search for it. As it was the time for prayer, they offered prayer without ablution (as water was not available there). When they came to the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), they made a complaint about it, and the verses pertaining to tayammum were revealed. Upon this Usaid bin Hadair رضی اللہ عنہ said (to 'A'isha): May Allah grant you a good reward! Never has been there an occasion when you were beset with difficulty and Allah did not make you come out of that and made it an occasion of blessing for the Muslims.
Urdu Translation
انہوں نے حضرت اسماء ؓ سے عاریتاً ہار لیا ، وہ گم ہو گیا تو رسول اللہﷺ نے اپنے کچھ ساتھیوں کو اس کی تلاش کے لیے بھیجا ۔ ان کی نماز کا وقت آ گیا تو انہوں نے بغیر وضو کے نماز پڑھ لی اور جب نبی اکرمﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے تو آپ سے اس بات کی شکایت کی ، ( اس پر ) تیمم کی آیت اتری تو اسید بن حضیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ( حضرت عائشہؓ سے ) کہا : اللہ آپ کو بہترین جزا دے ، اللہ کی قسم! آپ کو کبھی کوئی مشکل معاملہ پیش نہیں آیا مگر اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کے لیے اس سے نکلنے کی سبیل پیدا کر دی اور اسی میں مسلمانوں کے لیے برکت رکھ کر دی ۔

When anyone amongst us (amongst the wives of the Holy Prophet) menstruated, the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) asked her to tie a waist-wrapper over her (body) and then embraced her.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عليُّ بْنُ مُسْهرٍ، عَنِ الشَّيْبانيِّ ح، وَحَدَّثَنِي عليُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْديُّ، - واللَّفْظُ لهُ - أَخْبَرَنَا عليُّ بْنُ مُسْهرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمنِ بْنِ الْأَسْودِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: «كَانَ إِحْدَانَا إِذَا كَانَتْ حَائِضًا أَمَرَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَأْتَزِرَ فِي فَوْرِ حَيْضَتِها، ثُمَّ يُبَاشِرُهَا» قَالَتْ: «وَأَيُّكُمْ يَمْلِكُ إِرْبَهُ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْلِكُ إِرْبَهُ»
A'isha reported: When anyone amongst us was menstruating the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) asked her to tie waist-wrapper daring the time when the menstrual blood profusely flowed and then embraced her; and she ('A'isha) observed: And who amongst you can have control over his desires as the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) had over his desires.
Maimuna (the wife of the Holy Prophet) reported:
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ قَالَتْ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُبَاشِرُ نِسَاءَهُ فَوْقَ الْإِزَارِ وَهُنَّ حُيَّضٌ».
The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) contacted and embraced his wives over the waist-wrapper when they were menstruating.
Kuraibthe freed slave of Ibn Abbas رضی اللہ عنہ , reported:
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ مَخْرَمَةَ، ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَضْطَجِعُ مَعِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ، وَبَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ ثَوْبٌ».
I heard it from Maimuna, the wife of the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him): The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) used to lie with me when I menstruated, and there was a cloth between me and him.
