ہم سے موسیٰ بن عبدالرحمٰن نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے حسین نے زید کی سند سے، سماک کی سند سے اور عکرمہ کی سند سے بیان کیا, عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: أَبْصَرْتُ الْهِلَالَ اللَّيْلَةَ، قَالَ: أَتَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: يَا بِلَالُ، أَذِّنْ فِي النَّاسِ، فَلْيَصُومُوا غَدًا ،
Urdu Translation
ایک اعرابی ( دیہاتی ) نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر کہا :میں نے آج رات چاند دیکھا ہے، آپ نے پوچھا: کیا تم شہادت دیتے ہو کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں، اور محمد اس کے بندے اور رسول ہیں؟ اس نے کہا: ہاں، تو آپ نے فرمایا: بلال! لوگوں میں اعلان کر دو کہ کل سے روزے رکھیں۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
A Bedouin come to the Prophet and said; 'I have sighted the crescent tonight.' He said: 'Do you bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Messenger?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'O Bilal, announce to the people that they should fast tomorrow. '
