ہم سے علی بن حجر نے بیان کیا، کہا: ہم سے جریر نے مطرف کی سند سے اور شعبی کی سند سے بیان کیا, عدی بن حاتم رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الأَسْوَدِ[ سورة البقرة آية 187]، قَالَ: هُوَ سَوَادُ اللَّيْلِ، وَبَيَاضُ النَّهَارِ .
Urdu Translation
انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے آیت کریمہ :حتى يتبين لكم الخيط الأبيض من الخيط الأسود کے متعلق سوال کیا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: خيط الأسود ( سیاہ دھاری ) رات کی تاریکی ہے، ( اور خيط الأسود سفید دھاری ) دن کا اجالا ہے۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
He asked the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم about the verse Until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night). He said: It is the blackness of the night and the whiteness of the day. '
