ہم سے قتیبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا: ہم سے حماد نے ایوب کی سند سے بیان کیا, عبداللہ بن شقیق کہتے ہیں کہ
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ صَامَ، وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ، وَمَا صَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهْرًا كَامِلًا مُنْذُ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ .
Urdu Translation
میں نے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے روزوں کے بارے میں پوچھا، تو انہوں نے کہا :آپ روزہ رکھتے تھے یہاں تک کہ ہم کہتے کہ آپ ( برابر ) روزہ ہی رکھا کریں گے، اور آپ افطار کرتے ( روزہ نہ رہتے ) تو ہم کہتے کہ آپ برابر بغیر روزہ کے رہیں گے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مدینہ آنے کے بعد سوائے رمضان کے کبھی کوئی پورا مہینہ روزہ نہیں رکھا۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
I asked 'Aishah رضی اللہ عنہا about the fasting of the Messenger of Allah. She said: The Messenger of Allah used to fast until we said: He is going to (continue to) fast, and he used not to fast until we said: He is not going to, and he did not fast for a whole month from the time he came to Al-Madinah, apart from Ramadan. '
