The Book of Water

Narrated by: It was narrated from 'Aishah رضی اللہ عنہا that:
ہم سے ہارون بن اسحاق الکوفی نے بیان کیا، کہا: ہم سے عبدہ، یعنی ابن سلیمان نے، سعید کی سند سے، قتادہ کی سند سے اور صفیہ بنت شیبہ کی سند سے بیان کیا, ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْكُوفِيُّ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِمُدٍّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِنَحْوِ الصَّاعِ .
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Ghusl with a Mudd and Ghusl with approximately a Sa'.
Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک مد پانی سے وضو، اور ایک صاع کے برابر پانی سے غسل کرتے تھے۔

It was narrated from Ibn Abi Sa'eed Al-Khudri رضی اللہ عنہ that his father said:
أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، قال: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ وَكَانَ مِنْ الْعَابِدِينَ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَوْفٍ، عَنْ سَلِيطٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قال: مَرَرْتُ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ بِئْرِ بُضَاعَةَ، فَقُلْتُ: أَتَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهَا وَهِيَ يُطْرَحُ فِيهَا مَا يُكْرَهُ مِنَ النَّتَنِ ؟ فَقَالَ: الْمَاءُ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ .
I passed by the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was performing Wudu' from the well of Buda'ah. I said: 'Are you performing Wudu' from it when garbage is thrown into it?' He said: 'Water is not made impure by anything.'
It was narrated from 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہم that his father said:
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قال: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمَاءِ وَمَا يَنُوبُهُ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ وَالسِّبَاعِ، فَقَالَ: إِذَا كَانَ الْمَاءُ قُلَّتَيْنِ، لَمْ يَحْمِلِ الْخَبَثَ .
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about water and how some animals and carnivorous beasts might drink from it. He said: 'If the water is more than two Qullahs, it will not become filthy.'
It was narrated from Anas رضی اللہ عنہ that:
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا بَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَا تُزْرِمُوهُ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ دَعَا بِدَلْوٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَصَبَّهُ عَلَيْهِ .
A Bedouin urinated in the Masjid, and some of the people went after him, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Do not restrain him. When he had finished he called from a bucket (of water) and poured over it.
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah رضی اللہ عنہ said:
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قال: قَامَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَبَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَتَنَاوَلَهُ النَّاسُ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: دَعُوهُ وَأَهْرِيقُوا عَلَى بَوْلِهِ دَلْوًا مِنْ مَاءٍ، فَإِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُمْ مُيَسِّرِينَ وَلَمْ تُبْعَثُوا مُعَسِّرِينَ .
A Bedouin stood up and urinated in the Masjid, so the people grabbed him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to them: 'Leave him alone, and pour a bucket of water over his urine. For you have been sent to make things easy for people, you have not been sent to make things difficult.'
