Narrated by Abdur-Rahman bin Samurah رضی اللہ عنہ said:
ہمیں عمرو بن علی نے خبر دی، کہا: ہمیں یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا: ہمیں ابنِ عون نے حسن سے بیان کیا, عبدالرحمٰن بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ يَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا حَلَفْتَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ، فَرَأَيْتَ غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا، فَأْتِ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا، وَكَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ .
Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا :جب تم کسی بات کی قسم کھاؤ پھر اس کے علاوہ بات کو اس سے بہتر پاؤ تو وہی کرو جو بہتر ہو اور اپنی قسم کا کفارہ دے دو ۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If you swear an oath, then you see something that is better, then do that which is better and offer expiation for your oath.'
