Narrated by It was narrated that 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہ said:

ہمیں عبید اللہ بن سعید نے خبر دی، کہا: ہمیں سفیان نے عمرو — یعنی ابن دینار — سے، انہوں نے زہری سے، اور انہوں نے مالک بن اوس بن الحدثان سے روایت کی ,عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي ابْنَ دِينَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ الْحَدَثَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَتْ أَمْوَالُ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ مِمَّا لَمْ يُوجِفَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ عَلَيْهِ بِخَيْلٍ وَلَا رِكَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَانَ يُنْفِقُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ مِنْهَا قُوتَ سَنَةٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَمَا بَقِيَ جَعَلَهُ فِي الْكُرَاعِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالسِّلَاحِ عُدَّةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ .

Urdu Translation

اردو

بنی نضیر کا مال غنیمت مال فی میں سے تھا جو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے رسول کو عطا کیا یعنی مسلمانوں نے اس پر نہ گھوڑے دوڑائے اور نہ جنگ کی۔ آپ اسی میں سے سال بھر کا خرچ اپنے اوپر کرتے، جو بچ جاتا اسے گھوڑوں اور ہتھیار میں جہاد کی تیاری کے لیے صرف کرتے۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

The wealth of Banu An-Nadir was among the Fay' that Allah bestowed upon His Messenger, in cases where the Muslims did not go out on and expedition with horses and camels. From it he kept for himself food for one year, and what was left he spent on cavalry and weapons equipment for the cause of Allah.
