اذکارِ صبح و شام

Protect yourself with daily morning and evening remembrances (adhkar) from the Sunnah. Recite these after Fajr and before Maghrib for spiritual protection.

Morning Remembrance

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Asbahna wa asbahal-mulku lillah, walhamdu lillah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer

We have reached the morning and at this very time the whole kingdom belongs to Allah. All praise is due to Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.

Master of Forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfar)

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allahumma anta rabbi la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu, a'udhu bika min sharri ma sana'tu, abu'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa abu'u bidhanbi, faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa anta

O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sins except You.

Protection Morning Dua

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-sami'ul-'aleem

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm in the earth or in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Morning Tasbih

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

SubhanAllahi wa bihamdih

Glory be to Allah and all praise is His. (Whoever says this 100 times in the morning and evening, no one will come on the Day of Resurrection with a better deed.)

Morning Protection with Al-Mu'awwidhat

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ

Qul a'udhu bi Rabbil-falaq (recite Surah al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq, an-Nas)

Recite Surah al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq, and an-Nas three times each morning for protection throughout the day.

Dua for Good Morning

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ

Allahumma bika asbahna wa bika amsayna wa bika nahya wa bika namutu wa ilaykan-nushur

O Allah, by You we enter the morning and by You we enter the evening, by You we live and by You we die, and to You is the resurrection.

SubhanAllah al-Adheem Morning

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

SubhanAllahil-'Adheem wa bihamdih

Glory be to Allah the Magnificent, and all praise is His. (A tree is planted in Paradise for whoever says this.)

Evening Remembrance

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Amsayna wa amsal-mulku lillah walhamdu lillah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

Evening Remembrance of Allah

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ

Allahumma bika amsayna wa bika asbahna wa bika nahya wa bika namutu wa ilaykal-masir

O Allah, by You we enter the evening and by You we enter the morning, by You we live and by You we die, and to You is the return.

Evening Seeking Forgiveness

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilayh

I seek the forgiveness of Allah and I repent to Him.

Evening Protection

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

Ayat al-Kursi After Prayer

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ

Allahu la ilaha illa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyum...

Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence... (full Ayat al-Kursi, Quran 2:255)

An-Nasai, Al-Kubra

La ilaha illallah 10 Times After Fajr and Maghrib

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu yuhyi wa yumitu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, with no partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is over all things omnipotent.

Dua for Best of This World and Next

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the next, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Seeking Refuge After Prayer

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik

O Allah, help me to remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner.

Sleep

Before Sleeping

بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا

Bismika Allahumma amutu wa ahya

In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.

Upon Waking Up

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

Alhamdu lillahilladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilaihin-nushur

All praise is for Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us, and unto Him is the resurrection.

Sahih Al-Bukhari 11:113

Reciting Al-Mu'awwidhat Before Sleep

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Qul Huwallahu Ahad (recite Surah al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq, an-Nas — blow into cupped hands and wipe over body)

Recite Surah al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq, and an-Nas three times, blow into cupped hands, then wipe over the body starting with the head and face.

Dua for a Bad Dream

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajeem

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed devil. (Spit lightly to the left three times and turn over to the other side upon seeing a bad dream.)

Upon Waking at Night

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir, SubhanAllahi wal-hamdu lillahi wa la ilaha illallahu wallahu akbar wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, with no partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. Glory be to Allah, all praise is due to Allah, none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and there is no might or power except with Allah.

Upon Seeing a Good Dream

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

Alhamdulillah

All praise is due to Allah. (Upon seeing a good dream, praise Allah and tell those you love. Do not tell it to those who may be envious.)

Benefits of Daily Azkar

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever recites the morning and evening adhkar, they will suffice him against all harm." (Abu Dawud) Morning azkar are recited after Fajr prayer until sunrise, and evening azkar after Asr until Maghrib.
