Narrated by Husain bin Abdur Rahman said:
ہم سے احمد بن یونس نے بیان کیا، ہم سے ز ایدہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے حصین بن عبدالرحمٰن نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: رَأَى عُمَارَةُ بْنُ رُوَيْبَةَ بِشْرَ بْنَ مَرْوَانَ وَهُوَ يَدْعُو فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ، فَقَالَ عُمَارَةُ: قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ هَاتَيْنِ الْيَدَيْنِ. قَالَ زَائِدَةُ: قَالَ حُصَيْنٌ: حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ، قَالَ: لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ مَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى هَذِهِ يَعْنِي السَّبَّابَةَ الَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ .
Urdu Translation
عمارہ بن رویبہ نے بشر بن مروان کو جمعہ کے دن ( منبر پر دونوں ہاتھ اٹھا کر ) دعا مانگتے ہوئے دیکھا تو عمارہ نے کہا :اللہ ان دونوں ہاتھوں کو برباد کرے۔ زائدہ کہتے ہیں کہ حصین نے کہا: مجھ سے عمارہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو منبر پر دیکھا ہے، آپ اس سے ( یعنی شہادت کی انگلی کے ذریعہ اشارہ کرنے سے ( جو انگوٹھے کے قریب ہوتی ہے ) زیادہ کچھ نہ کرتے تھے۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
Umarah bin Ruwaibah saw Bishr bin Marwan (on the pulpit) praying on Friday (by raising his hands). Umarah said: May Allah reject these hands! I have seen the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم on the pulpit gesturing no more than this pointing with his forefinger.
