ہم سے سعید بن منصور نے بیان کیا، ہم سے اسماعیل بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا, ابن عون کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَتَبْتُ إِلَى نَافِعٍ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ دُعَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ عِنْدَ الْقِتَالِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَتَبَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ فِي أَوَّلِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَقَدْ أَغَارَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ وَهُمْ غَارُّونَ وَأَنْعَامُهُمْ تُسْقَى عَلَى الْمَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَتَلَ مُقَاتِلَتَهُمْ وَسَبَى سَبْيَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَصَابَ يَوْمَئِذٍ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي بِذَلِكَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَكَانَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْجَيْشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ نَبِيلٌ رَوَاهُ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ وَلَمْ يُشْرِكْهُ فِيهِ أَحَدٌ.

Urdu Translation

میں نے نافع کے پاس لڑائی کے وقت کفار و مشرکین کو اسلام کی دعوت دینے کے بارے میں پوچھنے کے لیے خط لکھا، تو انہوں نے مجھے لکھا :یہ شروع اسلام میں تھا ( اس کے بعد ) اللہ کے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے قبیلہ بنو مصطلق پر حملہ کیا، وہ غفلت میں تھے، اور ان کے چوپائے پانی پی رہے تھے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان میں سے جو لڑنے والے تھے انہیں قتل کیا، اور باقی کو گرفتار کر لیا ، اور جویریہ بنت الحارث ۲؎ کو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسی دن پایا، یہ بات مجھ سے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کی جو خود اس لشکر میں تھے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ ایک عمدہ حدیث ہے، اسے ابن عون نے نافع سے روایت کیا ہے اور اس میں ان کا کوئی شریک نہیں۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

“I wrote to Nafi asking him about summoning the polytheists (to Islam) at the time of fighting. So, he wrote to me “This was in the early days of Islam. The Prophet of Allaah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم attacked Banu Al Mustaliq while they were inattentive and their cattle were drinking water. So their fighters were killed and the survivors (i. e., women and children) were taken prisoners. On that day Juwairiyyah daughter of Al Harith was obtained. Abdullah رضی اللہ عنہما narrated this to me, he was in that army. ” Abu Dawud said “This is a good tradition narrated by Ibn Awn from Nafi and no one shared him in narrating it. ”
