ہناد بن سری نے ہم سے عبد السلام بن حرب کی سند سے، ابو خالد دالانی کی سند سے، ابو الاعلٰی عودی کی سند سے، حمید بن عبدالرحمٰن حمیری کی سند سے
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ الدَّالَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ الْأَوْدِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِذَا اجْتَمَعَ الدَّاعِيَانِ، فَأَجِبْ أَقْرَبَهُمَا بَابًا، فَإِنَّ أَقْرَبَهُمَا بَابًا أَقْرَبَهُمَا جِوَارًا، وَإِنْ سَبَقَ أَحَدُهُمَا فَأَجِبْ الَّذِي سَبَقَ .
English Translation
A companion of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم reported him as saying: When two people come together to issue an invitation, accept that of the one whose door is nearer in neighbourhood, but if one of them comes before the other accept the invitation of the one who comes first.
Urdu Translation
وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ایک صحابی سے روایت کرتے ہیں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب دو دعوت دینے والے ایک ساتھ دعوت دیں تو ان میں سے جس کا مکان قریب ہو اس کی دعوت قبول کرو، کیونکہ جس کا مکان زیادہ قریب ہو گا وہ ہمسائیگی میں قریب تر ہو گا، اور اگر ان میں سے کوئی پہل کر جائے تو اس کی قبول کرو جس نے پہل کی ہو ۔

Abdullah bin Umar رضی اللہ عنہما reported:
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْوَلِيمَةِ فَلْيَأْتِهَا .
The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as sayings: when one of you is invited for a wedding feast, he must attend it.
The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Ibn Umar to the same effect through a different chain of narrators. This version has the additional words:
حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَعْنَاهُ، زَادَ: فَإِنْ كَانَ مُفْطِرًا فَلْيَطْعَمْ، وَإِنْ كَانَ صَائِمًا فَلْيَدْعُ.
If he is not fasting, he should eat, and if he is fasting, he should leave it.
Ibn Umar رضی اللہ عنہما reported:
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا دَعَا أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُجِبْ عُرْسًا كَانَ أَوْ نَحْوَهُ .
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: if one of you invites his brother, he should accept (the invitation), whether it is a wedding feast or something of that nature.
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُصَفَّى، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْدِيُّ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ بِإِسْنَادِ أَيُّوبَ وَمَعْنَاهُ.
The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Nafi to the same effect through the chain of narrators as mentioned in Ayyub.
