Narrated by It was narrated that Abu Musa رضی اللہ عنہ said:
ہم سے علی بن محمد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابو معاویہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے الاعمش کی سند سے، عمرو بن مرہ کی سند سے، وہ ابو عبیدہ سے, ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ: قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِخَمْسِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَنَامُ، وَلَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ، يَخْفِضُ الْقِسْطَ وَيَرْفَعُهُ، يُرْفَعُ إِلَيْهِ عَمَلُ اللَّيْلِ قَبْلَ عَمَلِ النَّهَارِ، وَعَمَلُ النَّهَارِ قَبْلَ عَمَلِ اللَّيْلِ، حِجَابُهُ النُّورُ لَوْ كَشَفَهُ لَأَحْرَقَتْ سُبُحَاتُ وَجْهِهِ مَا انْتَهَى إِلَيْهِ بَصَرُهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ .
Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے درمیان کھڑے ہوئے اور پانچ باتیں بیان فرمائیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا :اللہ سوتا نہیں اور اس کے لیے مناسب بھی نہیں کہ سوئے، میزان کو اوپر نیچے کرتا ہے، رات کا عمل دن کے عمل سے پہلے اور دن کا عمل رات کے عمل سے پہلے اس تک پہنچا دیا جاتا ہے، اس کا حجاب نور ہے، اگر اس کو ہٹا دے تو اس کے چہرے کی تجلیات ان ساری مخلوقات کو جہاں تک اس کی نظر پہنچے جلا دیں ۔
English Translation
Meaning of the narration
The Messenger of Allah stood up among us and said five things. He said: 'Allah does not sleep, and it is not befitting that He should sleep. He lowers the Scales and raises them. The deed done during the day is taken up to Him before the deed done during the night, and the deed done during the night before the deed done during the day. His Veil is Light, and if He were to remove it, the glory of his Face would burn everything of His creation, as far as His gaze reaches.'
