مجھ سے عثمان نے بیان کیا ‘ ہم سے عبدہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے ہشام نے ‘ ان سے ان کے والد نے اور ان سے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ

حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ وَقَفَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى قَلِيبِ بَدْرٍ فَقَالَ ‏{‏هَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّهُمُ الآنَ يَسْمَعُونَ مَا أَقُولُ‏}‏ فَذُكِرَ لِعَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّمَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنَّهُمُ الآنَ لَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَقُولُ لَهُمْ هُوَ الْحَقُّ ‏"‏‏.‏ ثُمَّ قَرَأَتْ ‏{‏إِنَّكَ لاَ تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَى‏}‏ حَتَّى قَرَأَتِ الآيَةَ‏.‏

Urdu Translation

اردو

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بدر کے کنویں پر کھڑے ہو کر فرمایا کیا جو کچھ تمہارے رب نے تمہارے لیے وعدہ کر رکھا تھا ‘ اسے تم نے سچا پا لیا؟ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا جو کچھ میں کہہ رہا ہوں یہ اب بھی اسے سن رہے ہیں۔ اس حدیث کا ذکر جب عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے کیا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ فرمایا تھا کہ انہوں نے اب جان لیا ہو گا کہ جو کچھ میں نے ان سے کہا تھا وہ حق تھا۔ اس کے بعد انہوں نے آیت إنك لا تسمع الوتى بیشک آپ ان مردوں کو نہیں سنا سکتے۔ پوری پڑھی۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

The Prophet (ﷺ) stood at the well of Badr (which contained the corpses of the pagans) and said, "Have you found true what your lord promised you?" Then he further said, "They now hear what I say." This was mentioned before `Aisha رضی اللہ عنہا and she said, "But the Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Now they know very well that what I used to tell them was the truth.' Then she recited (the Holy Verse):-- "You cannot make the dead hear... ...till the end of Verse)." (30.52)
