ہم سے احمد بن یونس نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے ابوشہاب نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے عاصم نے ‘ ان سے عکرمہ نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ أَقَمْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي سَفَرٍ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ نَقْصُرُ الصَّلاَةَ‏.‏ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَنَحْنُ نَقْصُرُ مَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ، فَإِذَا زِدْنَا أَتْمَمْنَا‏.‏

Urdu Translation

اردو

ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ سفر میں ( فتح مکہ کے بعد ) انیس دن تک تو نماز قصر پڑھتے تھے ‘ لیکن جب اس سے زیادہ مدت گزر جاتی تو پھر پوری نماز پڑھتے تھے۔ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے مزید کہا کہ اگر ہم 19 دن تک مسافر ٹھہریں تو قصر کی نماز پڑھتے ہیں لیکن اگر زیادہ ٹھہریں تو پوری نماز پڑھتے ہیں۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

"We stayed for 19 days with Prophet on a journey during which we used to offer shortened prayers." Ibn `Abbas رضی اللہ عنہما added, "We offer the Qasr prayer (i.e. shortened prayer) If we stay up to 19 days as travelers, But if we stay longer, we offer complete prayers.
