حَدَّثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قُلْتُ لِسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، كَانَ يَقُولُ كَانُوا أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً‏.‏ فَقَالَ لِي سَعِيدٌ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرٌ كَانُوا خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً الَّذِينَ بَايَعُوا النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ‏.‏ تَابَعَهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ

Urdu Translation

اردو

مجھے معلوم ہوا ہے کہ جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہا کرتے تھے کہ( حدیبیہ کی صلح کے موقع پر ) صحابہ کی تعداد چودہ سو تھی۔ اس پر سعید بن مسیب نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ کہا تھا اس موقع پر پندرہ سو صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم موجود تھے۔ جنہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے حدیبیہ میں بیعت کی تھی۔ ابوداؤد طیالسی نے بیان کیا، ہم سے قرۃ بن خالد نے بیان کیا، ان سے قتادہ نے اور محمد بن بشار نے بھی ابوداؤد طیالسی کے ساتھ اس کو روایت کیا ہے۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

"I have been informed that Jabir bin `Abdullah رضی اللہ عنہ said that the number (of Al-Hudaibiya Muslim warriors) was 1400." Sa`id said to me, "Jabir رضی اللہ عنہ narrated to me that they were 1500 who gave the Pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ) on the day of Al-Hudaibiya.' Abu Dawood said: Qurrah has reported from Qatabah. Moreover, Muhammad bin Bashshaar from Abu Dawood and he from Shobah have reported it.
