ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ مدینی نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے عمرو بن دینار نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا ‘ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ ‏ "‏ أَنْتُمْ خَيْرُ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ ‏"‏‏.‏ وَكُنَّا أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعَمِائَةٍ، وَلَوْ كُنْتُ أُبْصِرُ الْيَوْمَ لأَرَيْتُكُمْ مَكَانَ الشَّجَرَةِ‏.‏ تَابَعَهُ الأَعْمَشُ سَمِعَ سَالِمًا سَمِعَ جَابِرًا أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعَمِائَةٍ‏.‏

Urdu Translation

اردو

ہم سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غزوہ حدیبیہ کے موقع پر فرمایا تھا کہ تم لوگ تمام زمین والوں میں سب سے بہتر ہو۔ ہماری تعداد اس موقع پر چودہ سو تھی۔ اگر آج میری آنکھوں میں بینائی ہوتی تو میں تمہیں اس درخت کا مقام دکھاتا۔ اس روایت کی متابعت اعمش نے کی، ان سے سالم نے سنا اور انہوں نے جابر سے سنا کہ چودہ سو صحابہ غزوہ حدیبیہ میں تھے۔

English Translation

Meaning of the narration

On the day of Al-Hudaibiya, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to us' "You are the best people on the earth!" We were 1400 then. If I could see now, I would have shown you the place of the Tree (beneath which we gave the Pledge of Allegiance)." Amash with reference to Salim has reported 1400 from Hadrat Jaabir."
