Surah Al-Maa'un

Ayah 1

أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ١

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

Ayah 2

فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ٢

For that is the one who drives away the orphan

Ayah 3

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ٣

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

Ayah 4

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ٤

So woe to those who pray

Ayah 5

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ٥

[But] who are heedless of their prayer1 -

Ayah 6

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ٦

Those who make show [of their deeds]

Ayah 7

وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ٧

And withhold [simple] assistance.
