Ayah 112:1
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ١
Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One,1
Ayah 112:2
ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ٢
Allāh, the Eternal Refuge.1
Ayah 112:3
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ٣
He neither begets nor is born,
Ayah 112:4
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ٤
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
Surah Al-Ikhlas is equivalent to one-third of the Quran in reward. Its four ayahs define the pure monotheism (Tawheed) of Islam — Allah is One, Eternal, who begets not nor is begotten, and none is equal to Him.
