Ayah 77:1
وَٱلْمُرْسَلَـٰتِ عُرْفًا١
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts
Ayah 77:2
فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ عَصْفًا٢
And the winds that blow violently
Ayah 77:3
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا٣
And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]
Ayah 77:4
فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرْقًا٤
And those [angels] who bring criterion1
Ayah 77:5
فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا٥
And those [angels] who deliver a message.
Ayah 77:6
عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا٦
As justification or warning,
Ayah 77:7
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ٧
Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.
Ayah 77:8
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ٨
So when the stars are obliterated
Ayah 77:9
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ٩
And when the heaven is opened
Ayah 77:10
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ١٠
And when the mountains are blown away
Ayah 77:11
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ١١
And when the messengers' time has come...1
Ayah 77:12
لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ١٢
For what Day was it postponed?1
Ayah 77:13
لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ١٣
For the Day of Judgement.
Ayah 77:14
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ١٤
And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?
Ayah 77:15
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ١٥
Woe,1 that Day, to the deniers.
Ayah 77:16
أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ١٦
Did We not destroy the former peoples?
Ayah 77:17
ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ١٧
Then We will follow them with the later ones.
Ayah 77:18
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ١٨
Thus do We deal with the criminals.
Ayah 77:19
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ١٩
Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
Ayah 77:20
أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ٢٠
Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?
